The Town Treasurer’s Department is responsible of all matters having a Financial implication to the Council.Headed by the The Financial Controller Mr. S. Veerasamy , the department has 33 employees and is sub-divided into 3 main sections i.e. Income, Expenditure, & Pay Administration.

The Main function of the department is :

     a) The collection of revenues

     The main items of revenue are :

          - Grant -In- Aid - Click here
          - General Rate
          - Tenant Tax
          - Licences
          - Publicity Fees
          - Market Stalls
          - Bus Toll

     b) Preparation of Estimates and Monitoring of Expenditure

     c) Preparation of Final Accounts.
